Racial Profiling is damaging to our nation, and serves only to promote division, hate and intolerance. Our goal is to activate, encourage, educate and increase public participation in confronting racial profiling in retail environments or anywhere else it exists. Our campaign seeks to work tirelessly to win reforms in local, state and federal policies to end all forms of racial profiling. Racial profiling has served no one well, does not make retail environments safer or decrease or solve crimes. It ultimately reaches dead-center into a extensive range of human rights violations as a pervasive problem that affects many communities across the country. In our quest to put an end to racial profiling we will partner with advocacy and grassroots organizations that have placed racial profiling at the top of their agendas to ensure we achieve total reform at all levels. In fact, according to a Gallop poll, racial profiling is seen as pervasive (click above)
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU---WE CAN HELP
We would like to hear from you any stories that you or someone your know regarding an racial profiling incident. Along with many other retailers, we are specifically interested in eradicating racial profiling at Macy's Department Stores. (Not just in their written policy—but in practice)
THE CAMPAIGN BEGINS:
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING! No safe harbor for racial profiling. Silence of offenses is just one way Racial Profiling continues.
Once we hear from you, our team will work quickly to assess your concerns, determine if you want/need media attention, and with your permission, add the story to our news outlet contacts, which will reach thousands of our activist readers. We will immediately add the violating company to our Racial Profiling boycott list. We can provide you with attorney contacts that will assess your case and determine whether your civil rights were violated. Not sure how to go about this? Don't worry, we can help you. English not your native language? Don't worry, we will connect you with a translator.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
There are no favors here. Retailers offer goods and services in exchange for money. Your hard-earned money! Earning your patronage is not a right or obligation, as our wonderful free market offers many options. If certain retailers choose to racially profile minorities, collectively they should not have privilege or your patronage. PERIOD! When companies such as, Macy's habitually participate in racial profiling--they do so because they believe no one will take a firm stance. With your help, we can change this. It's their store, but if your dollars that keep the lights on, and the doors open. No customers, No business. No racial profiling.
WHAT WE DO
The organization’s objectives are to:
1. Financial damage due to loss of sales from minority communities
2. Public Humiliation
3. Brand is tarnished with reputation for mistreating customers
4. Loss of trust from minority communities
5. Boycotts of the retailers stores for sustained periods
